Attendance

Attendance Matters at Leamington Primary School

At Leamington Primary School, we believe that every school day counts. Good attendance is essential for children to achieve their full potential — both academically and socially. Children who attend school regularly are more likely to enjoy learning, build strong friendships, and develop positive routines that prepare them for future success.

We work in partnership with families to promote the importance of regular attendance and punctuality. Our goal is for all pupils to maintain at least 96% attendance across the year.

Why Attendance Is Important:

  • Learning builds day by day — frequent absences can lead to gaps in knowledge.

  • Children with high attendance tend to make better progress and achieve higher outcomes.

  • Being on time helps children settle into the school day calmly and confidently.

Reporting Absence:

If your child is unwell or unable to attend school, please inform the school office before 9:00am each day of the absence. You can do this by calling 01623 455951.

Requesting Leave During Term Time:

Holidays during term time are strongly discouraged and can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances. Any requests must be submitted in writing using a Leave of Absence form, available from the school office.
