Is there a Gruffalo in the woods?

When we arrived at school on Wednesday we saw some strange footprints outside our classroom door. We decided that we wanted to investigate where they appeared from! We had lots of ideas! Some of us thought they might belong to trolls (or the Bergens who like to eat them!). We also thought they might belong to some animals such as lions, tigers or bears. Another idea we had is they might belong to the Gruffalo…

We have had so much fun learning about the Gruffalo. Together we have learnt the story with signs and can retell it off by heart! We learnt about what could live in the woods with the Gruffalo. We wrote facts about nocturnal animals.
When we were at school Paddington Bear rang us! He asked us if we would make sandwiches for a Teddy Bears Picnic. We loved learning about Paddington Bear - we made houses for little bears from marshmallows and spaghetti! As a class we decided that we wanted to go on an adventure together, we thought that we should go on a Bear Hunt! It was so much fun!
To finish our topic we went to Sherwood Pines. Together we walked along the Gruffalo trail and we found him! We also made dens for our Teddy Bears! It was such a fun day and we loved every minute of our adventure.
